YOUR DONATION SAVES LIVES
May 4, 2022
We are pleased to advise that Bring On The Spring 2022 has raised a total of $49,316, exceeding our goal of $40,000. The order for the Blood Chemistry Diagnostic Analyzer and reagent panels we will be donating to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados (QEH) has been placed and we look forward to presenting this equipment to the hospital in the next few months.
If you made a donation to Bring On The Spring 2022, thank you! We would especially like to thank the Robinson, Ward and Baylis families for their very generous donations. If you have not yet made a donation, you may do so at any time and contribute to next year’s Bring On The Spring Event and our donation of medical equipment to the QEH. Next year’s donation will be for the hospital’s Ophthalmology Department, and we are already considering the equipment we will donate.
The QEH is the primary acute care hospital in Barbados and has been in operation since November 1964. It is commencing a five-year BBD$110 million (CAD$68 million) recapitalization program to replenish its medical equipment and Barbados Canada Foundation is committed to assisting.
Whether you are a Barbadian or a friend of Barbados, our donations of medical equipment to the QEH could benefit you, a relative or a friend, should any one of you need to use the hospital’s services.
Please make a donation of $100 or more and help us continue to donate essential medical equipment to the QEH. Your donation will help the QEH save lives.
Please donate generously. CLICK HERE to donate through CanadaHelps.org or donate directly to Barbados Canada Foundation by e-transfer to treasurerbcf@gmail.com. A tax receipt will be provided for your donation.

Blue Circle Energy Sponsors Scholarship
February 11, 2022
We are pleased to announce that Blue Circle Energy has established a ‘Blue Circle Energy Scholarship' for $4,000 annually beginning this year through to 2024.
Headquartered in Bridgetown, Barbados, Blue Circle Energy empowers communities to control their own renewable energy future. They do so through the development of medium-scale solar energy generation projects they call “Community Solar Gardens”, that enable local engagement and ownership.
Blue Circle also facilitates capacity building through school-level renewable energy education programming, university-level scholarships, and trade-level technical training. This allows entire communities to learn about, connect with, and invest in their long-term energy sovereignty.
In commenting on Blue Circle Energy’s support of the BCF Scholarships Program, Vice President Khalid Grant said: “We are proud to launch this scholarship as a key leg in our technical capacity building mission. We view Barbados as having the potential to be a renewable energy centre of excellence for the region and providing financial support to those young people who want to be a part of this is very exciting.”
Blue Circle Energy is also offering an internship opportunity in Barbados to the scholarship recipient.
With the addition of the Blue Circle Energy Scholarship we will have 13 scholarships for total grants of $52,000 available this year. To date a total of 79 Scholarships valued at $238,000 have been granted, including 32 scholarships granted by Barbados Ball Canada Aid, prior to Barbados Canada Foundation assuming management of the scholarships program.
Barbados Canada Foundation thanks Mr. Grant and Blue Circle Energy for their support and look forward to a mutually satisfying relationship to the benefit of scholarship recipients and Barbados.
