The BCF Scholarships Program provides scholarships to youth of Barbadian heritage pursuing post-secondary education at Canadian universities and colleges.
Upon inception, we assumed management of the scholarships program from Barbados Ball Canada Aid (now Barbados Canada Association) and have granted 96scholarships valued at $347,000 to date.
All scholarships available are for $4,000 each and include the following memorial scholarships funded by BCF:
We also grant scholarships funded by sponsors. The following sponsored scholarships are currently available:
Upon receipt scholarship applications will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted if there is information missing. If the missing information is not provided by the deadline the application will not be considered.
Scholarship applications are evaluated and recipients selected by individuals who are not members of BCF’s board of directors, for approval by the board.
Each scholarship grant will be paid directly to the university or college being attended by the recipient.
Scholarship recipients may apply for a scholarship in subsequent years or for studies towards a graduate degree.

- The Harold M. Brathwaite Memorial Scholarship.
- The Donald MacKinlay Memorial Scholarship; and
- The John Rollock Memorial Scholarship.
We also grant scholarships funded by sponsors. The following sponsored scholarships are currently available:
- The BOCC Scholarship, sponsored by Barbados Overseas Community Canada, a non-profit organization which is now defunct.
- The Bass Installation Scholarship sponsored by Bass Installation Ltd, a leader in glass installation, providing services to the commercial, residential, institutional and industrial sectors in the Greater Toronto Area. This scholarship is open to students pursuing studies related to the construction industry in the fields of engineering, architecture or construction management.
- The Gloria Baylis Memorial Scholarships sponsored by the Gloria Baylis Foundation, the primary charitable giving program for Baylis Medical Technologies, which "seeks to be a world leader in the conception, development, production, and distribution of state-of-the-art medical products that improve the lives of people around the world” and is "committed to offering these products with exceptional customer service."
- The Blue Circle Energy Scholarship sponsored by Blue Circle Energy, a renewable energy company that designs, finances and installs ground-mounted solar installations in Barbados. This scholarship is available first and foremost to students who wish to pursue post-secondary technical education in the fields of the environment or renewable energy (electrical or environmental engineering preferred). Blue Circle Energy also offers a summer internship opportunity in Barbados for the scholarship recipient as long as the recipient is enrolled in the programming described.
- The Diproinduca Canada Scholarships sponsored by Diproinduca Canada Ltd, a by-product management and alternative raw materials production company serving the steel, oil, and mining industries.
